1. Does the tester come with a charger?
A: The tester is designed to be charged with a 5V power source and comes equipped with a Type-C charging cable. While a charger is not included, you can conveniently use a standard mobile phone charger.
2. Can I measure AC voltage?
A: The tester is not designed to measure AC voltage. Please avoid inputting AC voltage or DC voltage higher than 100V to ensure safe operation.
3. Does the tested battery need to be fully charged before retesting?
A: For most batteries, whether fully charged or not, the internal resistance test results remain consistent as the change in resistance is minimal. However, for a small number of battery types, a substantial power loss may affect the accuracy of the test results. In such cases, it is recommended to recharge the battery before testing.
4. Is the test result bouncing or unstable?
A: If the test results are unstable or show fluctuations, it may be due to poor contact between the test clamp and the battery, instability of the battery, the presence of an oxide layer on the electrode, or interference from a strong magnetic field nearby.
5. Can you measure large-capacity batteries?
A: Yes, the tester can measure large-capacity batteries. However, note that the internal resistance of such batteries is usually very small. Often, the resistance of the terminal connection line is higher than the battery's own resistance. Ensure that the clip is placed correctly, preferably on the original battery terminal, and maintain good contact during the test.
6. Can I test batteries without any markings?
A: This versatile tester can evaluate any type of battery, including both rechargeable and non-rechargeable varieties.
7. Why does testing the internal resistance determine whether the battery is good or bad?
A: Over time, as a battery is used, its capacity diminishes and its internal resistance increases-a natural physical phenomenon. A higher internal resistance indicates a reduced ability for current to pass through, which signifies lower battery performance. Hence, monitoring internal resistance is a reliable method to assess battery quality.
8. What is the normal internal resistance for an 18650 battery?
A: Ideally, the internal resistance should be around 20mΩ. Generally, it is about 30mΩ, and anything over 50mΩ indicates a poorer quality.
9. How much battery capacity can I test?
A: This tester is capable of testing any battery capacity, as long as the internal resistance lies within the range of 0-200Ω and the voltage is below 100V.
10. Can I test the internal resistance of a battery online? Can I test the UPS power supply?
A: Yes, in most scenarios, you can perform online testing without disconnecting the battery. This is especially applicable for UPS batteries under maintenance, which can be tested continuously.
11. What should I do if the device crashes?
A: Although no crashes have been reported, we have included a reset function. When you insert the charging cable to charge the tester, it will automatically reset itself.
